Chlorine smell and flavor
Chlorine has been added to water for decades due to disinfection. Unfortunately, it can affect our senses negatively with its aggressive chlorine scent or chemical pungent flavor.
Salty taste of water
The salty taste of water can be caused by chlorides. Chloride anions are one of the most common inorganic anions in water, produced by dissolution of various salts.
Sweet taste of water
Sometimes we can perceive sweet taste in the case of bottled water, into which producers add CO2.
Irony taste and odor of water
Even relatively small concentrations of iron can cause problems such as an increased number of bacteria colonies that cause an unpleasant odor of water.
Putrid odor
Putrid smell of water is usually caused by overgrowth of some kind of bacteria. But ther may be several other reasons. Often it is an increased concentration of iron and manganese.
Almond odor
Almond smell can mean hydrogen cyanide, i.e cyanides in the water. In such a situation, we recommend to leave the area without delay.
