Most of the members of Bacillus cereus species are saprophytic microorganisms which can be found mostly in soil, air and on plants. Some are even insect patogenes, others are dangerous due to causing food sickness, and another ones are on the contrary beneficial such as probiotics.
Optimum temperature for this bacteria’s growth is 30-37 ºC. Maximum 55 ºC.
Minimal pH for its growth is je 4.3 and maximum around 9,3. Optimal amount of oxygen is necessary, too.
