A Quarter-Century Fighting for Clean Water: EuroClean Celebrates Its Anniversary
EuroClean s.r.o. is celebrating 25 years since its founding this year. Since 1999 the company has taken a remarkable journey—from its initial inspiration drawn from Israeli water-treatment technology to today’s global projects that employ state-of-the-art purification and disinfection methods to ensure safe, high-quality water.
The company’s origins go back to the moment when EuroClean’s visionary founder, Jaromír Šnajdr, travelled to Israel and discovered an innovative electrolysis-based water-treatment technology. The experience profoundly influenced him and determined the future direction of his business. By 2000 the first KEUV electrolytic water-treatment plant had been built; after extensive testing and tuning at Pražská teplárenská and in Pardubice, it solved the long-standing problem of rusty hot water in block housing. Soon afterwards the KEUV technology spread to Slovakia, where successful installations earned the trust of the first clients and laid the foundation for long-term operations in a new market.
In 2007 EuroClean, spurred by growing demand and the discovery of a reliable local partner, established itself in Poland as well (www.euroclean.pl). The company thus positioned itself perfectly for the rising wave of interest in ecological, reliable and economical water-treatment methods—the very strengths of its own solutions. Shortly thereafter, in 2008, it unveiled the breakthrough EuroClean OXCL device for producing chlorine dioxide and successfully launched it on the market. Thanks to the high effectiveness of this technology in combating bacteria, especially Legionella, EuroClean became a leader in water disinfection and strengthened its position among manufacturers of advanced systems for protecting water-supply networks.
Another milestone came in 2014, when the company moved to its own premises in Roztoky near Prague. Modern facilities—including production halls and administrative offices—allowed EuroClean to further expand research and development, while maintaining its focus on ecological approaches and cost savings for users. Today EuroClean operates and rents out more than one thousand chlorine-dioxide generators and other dosing systems, and its KEUV-TV domestic hot-water treatment units, installed across the country, help improve life quality for nearly one million households.
The company has also gained international prestige through its participation in trade fairs and business missions organised by the Czech Chamber of Commerce and the Confederation of Industry of the Czech Republic. In 2022 EuroClean joined the ranks of global innovators by contributing to the S.A.W.E.R. project at World Expo 2020 in Dubai. The S.A.W.E.R. technology uses solar energy to extract water from atmospheric humidity, helping to tackle global water shortages. EuroClean supplied the key WatiMin mineralisation unit, which transforms nearly distilled water into delicious, health-compliant drinking water.
EuroClean’s quarter-century of activity is thus not only a celebration of the continuous refinement of its own products and services, but also a story of persistent efforts to push the boundaries of what is possible in water management. The company specialises in the entire chain—from analysing a specific problem through designing the technological solution to manufacturing and long-term service. It can tailor disinfection, filtration or water softening to individual customer needs, serving households, hospitals, hotels, breweries, apartment buildings and large industrial enterprises alike.
EuroClean’s core philosophy is to design solutions that are environmentally friendly while delivering maximum benefit and savings to operators. Most of its systems require no chemicals in everyday operation and are built on ease of use, long service life and simple maintenance backed by rapid, expert support. The company’s achievements to date and its expansion into further countries show that this focus on modern, ecological and economically efficient solutions remains a key market differentiator.
Over 25 years EuroClean s.r.o. has grown into the Czech leader in water treatment, with technologies reaching every corner of industry and services. Its founder and managing director believes the journey toward clean water is far from over. Given the growing global demand for sustainable water-resource management, an innovative approach to water processing and disinfection is increasingly essential. EuroClean is ready to meet these challenges and continue delivering solutions that will move the entire field of water management another step forward.
