Nitrates are an often problem mostly to a well water, where they leak into the water from nearby fileds where industrial manures are used, or from badly sealed septics. Nitrates are being used for manure due to their righness of nitrogen and their oxidation abilities in pyrotechnics.
Risks of nitrates in water
Nitrates (NO3-) are not seriously poisonous by themselves. They can merely cause higher produce of urine. The problem occurs in the moment when our digestive tract reduces nitrates to nitrites (NO2-) which are dangerously toxic.
Nitrites react with a blood pigment haemoglobin and turn it into methemoglobin which is not capable of carrying oxygen. Sort of suffocation of tissue then occurs.
Greatest risks are threatening infants who’s blood contents so called fetal haemoglobin which reacts with the nitrites easily. The child starts to get blueish and can suffocate.
The limit of nitrates for drinking water is 50mg/l, for infants it is adviced 15mg/l.

The principle of the treatment plant
The NaMix nitrates removers which solve the problem of nitrates in the water, function on a principle of ion exchange, when a special annexe mixture binds NO3- and releases anions of Cl- instead.
This happens after a maximum capacity of the regeneration mixture is reached. Then the mixture is regenerated by the flush of the regeneration salt (sodium chloride) which makes it ready for another denitrification.
The regeneration happens completely automatically in the lenghts of cca 40 minutes and the bond NO3- is flushed out with a washing water into the waste. Then the device switches itself into an operation regime.
While being regenerated, no water is being led to the system.
The whole process of denitrification is fully automated, the regeneration happens as soon as a certain amount of water is being treated. The user only fills in tablet salt once in 14 days.

Installation
It is very simple. The treatment plant is installed onto a water inlet into the building or apartment by stoping the actual water flow and installing on the pipes. Then the PE pipe for the washing water is led to the waste. The control valve is plugged into a common electrical socket of 230V.
In case of need we will install the device for you and start its operation. The mixing valve which can be used to regulate the resulting amount of nitrates is a part of the device.
Operation costs
Operation costs of the nitrate removing treatment plant consist of the cost of tablet salt and water necessary for the regeneration.
The cost of the treatment vary a lot depending on the amount of nitrates and a price of the water.
Electrical energy costs are minimal, roughly 100 CZK per a year.
